Home>Blog>An Eco-Friendly Water Bottle that Read My Mind
In my house, water is a major hot button issue. For years, my husband and I have fiercely debated the benefits and risks of our refrigerator's filter versus bottled water versus an expensive reverse osmosis system. We finally settled on purchasing a water cooler. Unfortunately, we're somewhat regretting this decision because although the water tastes great, is totally filtered, and is conveniently delivered to our home, we are plastic-phobics. So now it's back to the drawing board.
When it comes to transporting water out of the house, we're equally confused. Stainless steel reusable bottles are a nice option for some, but I find that the water always taste a little bit metallic. Lined aluminum bottles, like the Sigg bottle, have a great reputation, but I'm a little concerned about the plastic lining, especially because a couple years back these bottles admittedly contained BPA. Recently, we've been refilling glass bottles, which has been working well for my husband at work. But my four-year-old and I tend to place our bottles in precarious places, and I'm a little concerned about shattering glass.
I have daydreamed, from time to time, about a glass bottle that has a smash-safe cover. If my to-do list wasn't already significantly responsible for the deforestation of our planet, I would have invented one myself. Well, thank God it hasn't had to come to that (especially because I'm pretty sure that my invention would have completely sucked). The Takeya glass bottles are exactly what I've been dreaming of. Their sleekly designed eco-friendly, dishwasher safe, toxin-free, leak-proof reusable Glass Water Bottles keep water fresh and tasting like water, not like metal or plastic.
Thanks, Takeya. For inventing this great product and for sparing me the humiliation of failure. Cheers!
