I am the anti-party planner. What I mean to say is that most of the fairly frequent get-togethers I have are unplanned. They just evolve. This means two things. One: IÂ am always making do with whatever foods I happen to have on hand. Two: the clean-up has to be easy -- otherwise, I'll regret having the guests and never care to repeat the experience.
So let's begin with the first issue. When your menu's theme is "hodge podge," it is really easy to make the event you're hosting resemble a trailer park barbeque (not that there's anything wrong with that?) Therefore, I like my serving pieces to be somewhat uniform to tie together the otherwise mismatched spread. I never need large serving ware because I'm rarely host more than six or eight people at one time, and I also never have enough of one food item to merit a large platter.
Bambu makes various sizes of visually pleasing, eco-friendly serving trays and dishes that add a little zen to even the most frazzled affair. All of their terrifically understated items are crafted from certified organic bamboo. They are produced without fertilizers, chemicals, or pesticides. They are also biodegradable, compostable, and made from sustainable, renewable resources.
Oh-- I almost forgot the second order of business. The clean-up. Bambu's simple and sleek designs are easily and quickly hand-washed in warm water. Love them.
